Grilled crabs with peppers

ΥΛΙΚΑ

    • • 2 large pcs. crabs
    • • 2 green peppers

      • 2 cloves of garlic

      • Fresh lemon thyme

      • 50g olive oil

      • Salt

      • Pepper

Method

Rinse the crabs well, then carefully open the shell on their bodies, and clean and rinse them. Then sprinkle with olive oil, add chopped garlic, lemon thyme, salt and pepper. Cut the peppers into quarters, marinate them with salt, pepper, oil and a little bit of vinegar and grill them.

Grill the crabs for 5΄ on each side and serve with lemon oil flavored with lemon thyme.

A few words...

In addition to fine fish, many shellfish (clams, shells, shrimps, sea urchins, etc.), including crabs, abound in the Messolonghi-Aitoliko lagoon. Moreover, lake Trichonida is home to the so-called freshwater crabs.

Their distinctive taste and their valuable nutrients make crabs an ideal summer appetizer, which is why their place is in our kitchen and not in our pocket (according to a famous Greek saying, if someone has crabs in his pockets it means that he is a tightfisted person)!
